That's about what my parent's are doing, which was why I couldn't stay after school for the optionals at the time, because I had lot's of iffy grades. As for a fundraising idea, let's have either: a. A people auction! We get teachers and other people to come to an auction and bid on us, and then we go do odd jobs for them for the rest of the day, or a couple of hours, or whatever. b. A car smash! We go to a junk yard, find a trashed car, and bring it back. Charge people 20 bucks for 5 minutes and a sledge hammer. *edit* might need to be 10 dollars though.

I think we are going about this wrong. We are too focused on things that don't necessarily need to be done right now and we are neglecting things that need to be decided on now. Like, do we have a director? As much as we would like to, we cannot run a drum corps as high school students.
And I don't know if you guys realize how expensive starting and keeping a drum corps afloat is going to cost, even a DCA corps. We are talking about band uniforms, instruments, guard uniforms, music and drill, buses, gas, show entry fees, podiums for the drum majors, gas, food, staff pay, most likely some money for use of a field to practice on everyday for a month, gas and lots of other things I can't think of right now. I got a Band Shoppe catalogue in the mail and while flipping through it I realized that as a rough estimate, it would cost a little over $200 per person for a uniform ( jacket, bibbers, helmet, plume, shoes, gloves), a DM podium is at least $400-$500, guard uniforms are $60 a piece, sabers, flags and rifles are around $40-$50 a piece. Everyone is so gung-ho about fund raising and stuff but I don't think we can fund raise this much...

Exactly! It's odd, but we could get money, because people inherantly want to do this! Also, I agree with Zack. It's expensive, but I don't know if that's our biggest problem. More than anything, we need staff. He's right, as highschool students, we can't run anything. Thing of every legal adult you know. I've got cousins that would love to help us out, but they all live in Florida, so...

Definitely! That would work, and I've got friends (everyone else probably does too) in Woodstock's and Cherokee's bands! They can spread the word there! and Tuba Justin, Doggy Zack started it.
