One final reminder for the scrimmage tomorrow: Wear your Friday shirt (the one with Sandy and Danny on the back that we wore on Friday at band camp), khaki shorts, and tennis shoes.Take off any jewelry before putting on your uniform. Have your instrument, your mouthpiece, and your music if you have not passed it off yet. You will need all your music: show tunes, stands tunes (Cheer Jerkers and the Cheer Pack), the fight song, and the National Anthem. Bring Fire of Eternal Glory too, just in case. After the game, put all your stuff away (instrument in case and ready to take home: NOT IN YOUR LOCKER); clean up the band room (I know it's an away game, but the band room looks pretty bad after seventy people have been in it walking around, talking to people, pulling up chairs, moving stands out of the etc.); then check out with your Section Leader. All brass players need to be at school in uniform with instruments and music by 5:15. I suggest taking your mouthpiece home with you so we can work on some buzzing in case we get there before Mr. Mote does. IS EVERYONE EXCITED FOR THE SCRIMMAGE TOMORROW? Correction to Uniforms

Yeah, he is. The show today was pretty decent (percussion started a little rushed.... in fact, Ryan had to adjust his conducting to match the percussion because the rest of the band was also adjusting to percussion instead of Ryan). But the stands were very disorganized. I shouldn't have expected any different since today was just a scrimmage and the first game, but I want better next Saturday at the Dome. We need to always be paying attention. (Every few seconds, check the drum major, then check the game, then check the drum major again. If the drum major hasn't moved yet and the game doesn't seem to be going anywhere, go back to your talking and check again in about a minute.) Otherwise, today went pretty well for the first game. Key phrase: "for the first game." I want it to be better the rest of the season. I know I wasn't paying attention a lot either, so I need to fix it too.
All Brass: Point your bell toward the 50!!! I saw too many people aiming at the left 30. Imagine a string pulling your bell toward the 50. Trumpets: We need to come up with a dance for PG and SI... and Joe! We may practice Trumpet Suicide during sectionals, but we need to focus on music for now. But we will come up with something. Also, I will be passing off trumpets next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Make plans to be there about 45 minutes early and stay about 15-30 minutes late. Since I have eight of you who still have to pass off the one or both of the first two show tunes, I'll probably take one person before practice Tuesday, one afterwards, four during sectionals Wednesday (two at a time), and two more Thursday (one before, one after). Dryn has been ready for a while, so he gets first shot. Highest bid gets next... just kidding. But it's first come, first serve.
Good job today. It's really starting to get better.

Man you people are mean. Just so you don't feel left out, Mykal you're fat. Justin is to tall for his own good. I hate life.
Also, judging by the number of midnight oil posts, who else has a computer in their room?
