But I was the only 8th grade baritone last year. Sure about two? My name is Dylan Morgan and I am a Baritone B.C.

Good, now that we have freshmen on the site, maybe we can get some of the other members who left when it died to come back.

Wait, why do I have to learn B.C. I swear the guy a the music store knows less about instruments than I do. I'm going to lecture him when I go back...

Because it is easier to find bass clef parts for baritone/euphonium, and since your switching from flute you won't realize that it is any different. when people switch from trumpet they do T.C. because they already know the buttons for it

Yeah, but since she played flute, she can already read treble clef. It will make a difference for her. If she plays T.C., then she'll be able to read the notes correctly, just as they're written (A=A, B=B, etc.). But if she plays B.C., then she has to realize that the notes are different (A=C, B=D, etc.). She'll have the wrong fingerings assigned to the notes because she'll be reading the wrong notes.
Yes, I like to put a lot of thought into this kind of thing. Haley, stick with T.C. for now, and if you want to, you can work on learning B.C.

Haley, stick with T.C. for now, and if you want to, you can work on learning B.C. she wont have to realize the notes are different because she has no prior experience with valved instruments so if we tell her F is Open and it is the the second line down, that is what she will play. it is a lot harder to switch to bass clef after she has already associated the valve fingerings with treble. she is already starting from scratch, it would be easier for her in the long run to start on bass (as most woodwind to lowbrass do)
