Okay, well, I'm planning on jetting (doing dual enrollment - taking classes at college as well as in high school) next year, and that might mean that I won't be able to be in a band class. If that's the case, Mote said he would still let me be in Wind Symphony and marching band as long as I come to the after-school practices. But I would need to get any information I miss during class. Of course, there's always the possibility that band will be switched to a later period, and Mote also mentioned the idea of combining bands into one period (fourth period). Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to make it back to school in time for fourth period, and that would mean that I would only be in band during afternoon practices.
So, the whole point of this is that I'll need to get the information I miss in class. So if I miss anything big, like the fact that we aren't signed up for a regular festival/competition this season and we might not go to festival if we can't go to Myrtle Beach, just post it here. And I'll be sure to ask for any information at the after-school practices, just in case people forget to post.
And, of course, this isn't just for me. This can also be used for people who are sick or just absent for whatever reason. So... yeah, that's about it. If you miss something, post here, and we'll do our best to get you whatever information you need.

Okay, well, I'll start. If anyone has missed any days this week, you haven't missed very much. We warmed up, then listened to Mote ramble on and on for forty minutes. These are the only important things you missed:
- Matt Porter is back in band, and he made first chair on his chair placement audition (but the changes haven't been made yet) - Planning for the Myrtle Beach trip has pretty much stopped. Instead, Mote is planning for us to go to some other festival/competition called Grand NAI (National Adjudicators Invitational) in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Also, if that fails, we're not signed up for a regular festival this year, so if Myrtle Beach and Grand NAI don't work out, we're not going to any festival this year, unless Mote can come up with something on the spot. And we all know how bad he is with that from the Christmas concert. - You also missed an insane game of MASH in the trumpet section! Anthony lives in a trailer home, drives a motorcycle, is married to Patrick Schwedo, and has 500,000,000 kids. I don't remember what his job and salary were, though.

Okay, a preliminary decision has been made. Mote is still being Mote and hasn't decided what we're doing for sure, but right now the plan for the spring trip is to go to Chattanooga, TN for the Grand NAI (National Adjudicator's Invitational) for one night. The cost is about $200.
For brass quintet people *cough*Colleen*cough* we looked at some music to see what we might be interested in playing. We played Pachelbel Canon, Die Bänkelsängerlieder, English Folk Song Suite, and Trumpet Voluntary. The hardest was probably Pachelbel because of all the sixteenth notes and occasional 32nd notes, but it's still an awesome song. All of them were really fun to play, so I'm hoping that we can play at least three of those four. (Give us a heads up next time you can't be there. We need to know, because we had to have Mote play horn for us yesterday....)
